Before we commence, I just wanted to thank everyone, for helping our site reach #1 in Google Search.
Nootropic is loose term for a group of supplements that improve mental performance .
What Are Nootropics?
Hello and welcome,
We seek information, check the information is peer reviewed, and then publish our findings in a quick and easy to read format!
The list of Nootropics available today is long.
All Nootropics aim to improve;
Studies show that Modafinil works best as a cognitive enhancer. When a single 200 mg pill is taken 1-hour before a work shift.
History of Nootropics.
Exactly when the word Nootropic was first used is still up for debate.
The earliest history suggests, in the 1960’s. Chemist Corneliu E. Giurgea, found that patients, treated for motion sickness with piracetam. Demonstrated improvements in mental performance, information processing, and memory consolidation.
But it wasn’t until the late 1970’s, that the use of Nootropics became wide spread. And although Modafinil has been around for 50 years, it’s use was limited to a few insiders.
When the movie Limitless was released, Modafinil use exploded.
During the late 1950’s a French chemist, Michel Jouvet, discovered the complexities of sleep. Using new techniques of the times, such as E.E.G. scans.
This led Jouvet to discover what is commonly referred to as the REM state of sleep. These sleep periods determined the stage of wakefulness one might experience.
These discoveries led him to examine sleep disorders such as Narcolepsy. Narcolepsy is a chronic brain disorder that involves poor control of sleep-wake cycles.
People with narcolepsy experience periods of extreme daytime sleepiness and sudden, irresistible bouts of sleep that can strike at any time.
These “sleep attacks” usually last a few seconds to several minutes.
Modafinil The Most Popular Brain Pill To Ever Exist.
Modafinil was intended to “decrease extreme sleepiness due to narcolepsy and other sleep disorders such as difficult and irregular breathing during sleep.”
In addition, the drug was prescribed to battle, “shift work sleep disorder” (SWSD).
By the 1990’s Modafinil was widely approved by the F.D.A.
Patients who suffered from sleep disorders loved the product. Through more rigorous research and development, scientist discovered Modafinil was able to affect people who did not suffer from any sleep disorders in positive ways.
Such as its ability to enhance alertness and focus. In the early 2000’s the military saw this advantage and soon prescribed Modafinil to the United States Air-force.
Modafinil was specifically used during the 2003 Iraq War.
Today, Modafinil has grown very popular in the academic world.
Students in particular love the enhanced performance it offers when they need help with:
- Retaining information,
- And passing difficult test.
Because of the growing popularity and benefits, people all over the globe are learning the benefits Modafinil offers.
On top of the popularity, Modafinil has been shown to have little to no addictiveness or withdrawal symptoms.
Making Modafinil the most popular brain pill to ever exist.
Is Modafinil Safe?
In the HBR article ‘Like It or Not, “Smart Drugs” Are Coming to the Office’. The researchers at Harvard and Oxford Medical Schools, showed that Modafinil has significant cognitive benefits.
HBR goes on to argue that, the use of Modafinil in the work place, universities etc is becoming common place.
“After their study was published, media reports began to refer to Modafinil as the world’s first safe smart drug.”
Modafinil’s has the ability to improve;
- Higher thinking,
- and Alertness.
What would you do with an extra few hours in the day?
- Or the ability to churn out buckets of focus on one task until it’s completed?
- Or able to experience more fluid speech and expression of thoughts?
- Increased confidence?
- A memory that doesn’t fail you?
The Modafinil Family Tree
With 20 different brand names for Modafinil, it can be confusing for the novice.
So let’s set the record straight. All of the 20, have the same basic ingredient, Modafinil.
All Pharmaceutical companies are not the same. So we end up with a variety of strengths of Modafinil. For example, Sun Pharmaceuticals products, are considered by most, to produce stronger Nootropics, than HAB Pharmaceuticals.
Stronger does not always mean better!
Example, when I take Waklert (Sun Pharma), I sweat a lot and I talk way too much. Not what I want at work. But with Artvigil (HAB Pharma), I get none of that. Just the alertness and focus I’m aiming for.

My Personal Experience
Over the years I have tried many combinations. Searching for the perfect mix.
The following is what works best for me!
- For a normal day I use 1 x Artvigil 150mg, within 1 or 2 hours of waking up.
- On a busy day I take 2 x Artvigil. Never together always 2 hours apart. My reason is below.
- For an extra busy day my preferred dose is 1 x Waklert and 1 x Artvigil again 2 hours apart.
Why 2 hours Apart?
I once tried taking 2 x Artvigil at the same time. My mind felt a little numb and I had a very bad headache after about 3 hours. I don’t recommend taking 2 of any of the Modafinil’s at the same time.
Wakert for me is very strong, That’s why I mix it with Artvigil. When I take Waklert and Artvigil 2 hours apart, I’m on fire. I’m fully focused on my tasks and work for hours on end without a break. I don’t even feel hungry I just work.
But Paul agrees never 2 at the same time. Paul’s perfect dose for a very day is 2 x Waklert 2 hours apart.
I have added a few links below to current and past Modafinil research.
